Forest Bathing, whose original name is Shinrin-yoku (from Shinrin = forest and Yoku = bath), was born in Japan in the early 1980s.
There has been plenty of scientific research carried out on the activity which has slowly brought to light the great benefits which Shinrin-yoku is able to generate in those who practice it.
Only a few hours of practice can be enough to alleviate stress and encourage relaxation, working on the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system, on the production of cortisol, on the heart rate and on blood pressure.
Forest Bathing also boosts the immune system, acts positively on depression, infuses energy, improves the duration and quality of sleep and promotes weight loss.
