An exciting route to discover Ruchè, a native vine forgotten and rediscovered by a stubborn parish priest who began to study it with great conviction: grown in just 7 municipalities it obtained DOCG status in 2010 and is now internationally acclaimed. And then there is the excellence of the Piedmontese hazelnut and the sounds of the traditional game of Monferrato.


Program

Day 1

Arrive in Castagnole Monferrato. Visit the Ruchè Museum and its infernot. Engaging videos, sensory experiences and work tools will enable you to discover the history of Ruchè starting with Don Cauda, known as the father of this red wine of Monferrato. The most famous vineyard 'la Vigna del Parocco' is named after him, and it is where the first vines were planted in 1964. Followed by tasting of 3 glasses of wine paired with local products.

Day 2

Tour by Vespa from Grana across the magnificent hills between Montemagno Viarigi Castagnole M.to Scurzolengo and Portacomaro. Stop off in a historical winery of the area. Lunch at leisure.
In the afternoon we recommend Ottiglio (do you know the treasure of the Saracens' cave?) and the small hamlet of Moleto with the houses built of pietra da cantoni and one of the most spectacular scenic points of the area. Return Vespa in Grana. Dinner in osteria with tasting menu and accommodation

Day 3

After breakfast, transfer to Vignale Monferrato. Stop en route in Casorzo to admire the double tree (a perfect symbiosis between a mulberry tree and a cherry tree). Tambass experience in Vignale: Tamburello a muro or tambass is more than just a game, it is a celebration which brings together entire villages gathered in the 'sferisteri', the squares under the walls, a match with ancient and proud gestures and full of unmistakable sounds. Under the guidance of expert players you will participate in a lesson on the rules and use of the tamburello, the tricks for hitting the ball and throwing it as far as possible as you hold your breath looking upwards. Possibility to watch a professional league match of tamburello a muro (June and July) depending on the calendar.
Lunch at leisure. In the afternoon stop off at the Belvedere infernot followed by a visit to the well-known distillery in Altavilla Monferrato. Discover the various production phases, soaking up the perfume of the grape marc. The tour continues inside the picturesque ageing barrique cellar where the fine Spirit rests in casks of prestigious wood before you move on to the emotional "Galleria della Grappa", artistic set up with historical bottles of spirits. Sensory tasting of grappa and spirits included.

Day 4

Breakfast in Portacomaro followed by experience - At Hazelnut school - to discover the Piedmontese IGP hazelnut: after watching it being processed (very few steps) inside the workshop, embraced by the perfume of the roasted hazelnut, you will create an irresistible recipe: your first cocoa and hazelnut cream of Monferrato! With a personalized label on the jar, take it home as a souvenir. Lunch in agriturismo and free time to enjoy the enchanting
view
from its terrace, kissed by the sun as you sip a glass of Ruchè in total relaxation.

Day 5

After breakfast, transfer to Scurzolengo to visit a winery and taste... not just Ruchè but also vermouth and agricultural Gin of Piedmont!


Tambass experience: the place of the lesson will be agreed depending on the availability of the courts according to the championship program. In case of cancellation due to bad weather the experience will be postponed to another date.
